Brunch Breakdown: Austin, Texas
“And P.S. if this is Austin I Still Love You… and Brunch”- Blake Shelton, probably
Of course when you go to Texas you expect some amazing Tex-Mex, so of course we had to list this spot first! Tamale House East is known obviously for their tamales- they are freshly made everyday by abuelas that put love into every single corn husk! A fan favorite dish is “Mom’s Migas & Queso”, fried tortillas, scrambled eggs, and their delicious queso. You can’t forget to pair it with their Bloody Mary! It’s also not bad on the eyes. ;)
Alright ladies, we are headed to our gal pal, Mattie’s for the first meal of the day! Not only is the food great, but this is also a wedding venue so you know it’ll fit the Gram! Ok, fine… I’ll answer this one first, yes, they do have avocado toast! It’s served with arugula and pickled onions, but you can also add that delicious runny egg or fresh salmon. If you’re more of a sweet kinda gal, then the Milk Punch French Toast should be your go to!
Snooze A.M. Eatery may be the restaurant with the most extensive menu, which is super exciting because even your pickiest eater can find something to indulge on! They have a strictly veggie section, benedicts and “pancake utopia”, just to name a few categories. We know everyone loves some avocado toast, so the smashed avocado benny is your dream- its an eggs benedict and avocado toast mash up you are sure to swoon over!
I have been on the hunt for the place with some of the best chicken and waffles and I think that Jacoby’s Restaurant is it! Jacoby’s is your beloved farm-to-table restaurant, so everything is as fresh as it can be. This restaurant takes simple, everyday ingredients and elevates them to accommodate even the fanciest of taste buds! Don’t forget to get a slice of their famous strawberry cake, it's never too early to have cake!
We hope this list makes you boot, scoot, and boogie right on through the city that keeps it weird! Bachelorette weekend calories don't count, remember? ;)
