Waco, Texas Bachelorette Guide
It’s Not All About The Silos!
We all know about the Magnolia Silos in Waco, Texas, but what if I told you there was much more than Waco offers? I bet you would find it hard to believe, but I want to invite you in to see what my Waco looks like!
We need somewhere to stay, so there are several options! Waco is the home of Dr. Pepper, (which you will find out later), so we are staying at a new and modern Air BNB right in the heart of Waco!
This elegant and beautiful home has 7 beds, 4.5 baths and can sleep up to 12 people, so it is perfect for your gals! The house comes with a private pool (which can host the most fun bachelorette pool parties), in-home wifi, a washer and dryer and so much more! The location is also what should draw you here! It is less than half a mile away from the Magnolia Silos and also walking distance to downtown.
Fannie’s On 5th St. is a gorgeous and historic home in downtown Waco. This home is simplistic and bright, which will allow for great photos and a great time!
This house can sleep up to 12 people and comes on property security systems, a washer and dryer, and beautiful kitchen that will make you want to have 3am dance parties!
Fannie’s is only 5 minutes away from the Silos, boutiques, and many raved about Waco restaurants!
This is definitely your home away from home.
While, of course, you have the Magnolia Silos I think that not alot of people know about the other activities Waco and its surrounding cities have to offer! Yes, Chip and Jo are great, but wouldn't you rather go play with a baby otter or go to a vineyard?
As mentioned earlier, Waco is home to the beloved Texas drink, Dr. Pepper! In downtown Waco you can visit the Dr. Pepper Museum which is a fun and unique way to spend your time in Central Texas.
You will learn the history of the best soda ever made, laugh a lot and even get a free drink afterwards! Word on the street is that now you can even mix your own soda. ;)
One of my favorite places in Waco is actually the Cameron Park Zoo! It may be a little unconventional for a bachelorette weekend- it is so fun and you could also get some cute Gram photos that are unique to your weekend… maybe an inner lioness will be unleashed, hehe!
When you think of vineyards, you probably think of Napa Valley and Lake Fingers New York, but there is one right here in Waco that you are sure to love! Valley Mills Vineyard, a family business of home grown grapes and fresh wine is sure to fuel your bachelorette weekend dreams. You can book tastings for only $15 or a full tour of the vineyard for $30! This is a must do during your Waco visit.
Waco has some of the most delicious and “hole-in-the-wall” places to eat, so you are sure to eat at some gems while you're there!
Our first food stop is for breakfast at Cafe Homestead! This restaurant is award-winning and they definitely live up to that. They locally source their food, including pasture-raised beef and always making the freshest of breads! Make sure to get the buttermilk pancakes- they are the fluffiest and lightest you will ever have!
We all know that Texas is known for their BBQ so we couldn't finish out a list without having you eat some kind of brisket! Vitek’s Market may not be the most elegant or the most aesthetically pleasing, but it is for sure the juiciest and mouthwatering food you will eat in Waco. Like every BBQ restaurant they have brisket, sausage and all of the fixin’s, but a crowd favorite is their Spud with Chopped Brisket!
To round out the perfect trip, we are going to get the best pizza in town… and I mean this quite literally, my friends and I come here at least 2 times a month. Moroso Pizzeria specializes in Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas! Everything is freshly made and make sure that you order something with fresh mozzarella, especially if you love cheese- it's the BEST! Don’t forget to ask your waiter with help to find the best wine pairing for your meal.
You should also ask to speak to the owner and see if you recognize his voice. He’s a voice actor for animated films. ;)
There are far more restaurants to visit in Waco, so you should go back and read the Waco Restaurant Series for more suggestions!
I hope this gave you a better idea of what Waco has to offer because I promise it is not only the Silos, even though they are so fun! Waco is a place for your bride who may not want a big city feel and wants a more low-key weekend!
